PRESIDENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF DAIKOKU
MIGS CALDEO Nakatani On 18 September 2016, a secessionist movement calling itself as the "Principality of Kurbam" was formed in Kurbam area in the province of Iligan, and had declared the said area's "secession" from the Democratic Republic of Daikoku. This group claims that their reason for the so-called "secession" of Kurbam is because of their refusal to recognize the rightful authority of the Democratic Republic of Daikoku as they claim that they will continue "Namayan's principles and customs" and will only recognize the authority of the Namayan monarchy, which they view as currently vacant. The Democratic Republic of Daikoku condemns the acts of the so-called "Principality of Kurbam" and recognizes that Kurbam is still a part of the territory of the Democratic Republic of Daikoku and is still under its rightful jurisdiction. The Democratic Republic of Daikoku also calls the secessionist movement's acts as the highest treason not only to this government but to the principles and customs upheld by Namayan, which they claim to be continuing in their so-called "Principality of Kurbam." It should be noted that the Democratic Republic of Daikoku is based not only on the ideas of a Daikoku state but also of that of the Namayan state. It should also be noted that the government of the Democratic Republic of Daikoku was already agreed upon back in July 2016 as the former Rajah of Namayan agreed to the proposal of the former Provisional Committee for National Affairs to turn Namayan into a parliamentary republic. The only difference is that the government is now based in the city of Nakatani in Daikoku since it is no longer possible for the government to operate from the Lequia in Namayan. In response to the acts committed by the so-called "Principality of Kurbam," I have issued a decree on the measures in response to the so-called "secession" of Kurbam. I have declared that a state of emergency is declared in Kurbam effective today. I have also created the Committee on the State of Emergency in Kurbam, which is tasked to respond to the current situation in the said area. This committee will consist of myself as chairman, and State Council members Darwin Eugenio and Reginald Pasao as its members. I also issue a demand for the "Principality of Kurbam" to recognize the government of the Democratic Republic of Daikoku, in exchange for an amnesty for all illegal acts committed in this so-called act of "secession" and an increased role in the administration of our government. The "Principality of Kurbam" should remember that the failure to respond to these kind terms offered by the government of the Democratic Republic of Daikoku will only lead to the greatest punishment befitting for traitors to our country. I hope that the "Principality of Kurbam" would act based on what all of the people of the Democratic Republic of Daikoku desires, which is peace, unity and happiness, and not on their selfish ambitions that will only lead to violence and division within our shared country. 19 September 2016 Nakatani (Nakatani, 19 September 2016, Daikoku News Service)
