TAKEBE, Seidaikei (DFNS) - The Presidency of the Daikoku Federation issued a decree on April 22 scheduling elections to the 3rd Federal Assembly and referendum on the territory of the Daikoku Federation on June 30, 2014. In a statement of the Presidency of the Daikoku Federation on April 22, it said: "The Presidency of the Daikoku Federation held a meeting today with the Federal Government of the Daikoku Federation and had reached a decision to schedule the elections to the 3rd Federal Assembly in accordance to the recently adopted Constitution of the Daikoku Federation (2014) on June 30, 2014. "It was also decided on the same meeting that a referendum is to be scheduled on the same date regarding the future of the Daikoku Federation," the statement added. According to the new Constitution of the Daikoku Federation, four deputies to the Federal Council and six deputies of the States Council are to be elected. The deputies of the Federal Council are to be elected by the entire Daikoku Federation while the deputies of the States Council are to be elected by constituencies of the Daikoku Federation, with each constituency being apportioned a certain number of seats. Meanwhile, the referendum would tackle on the territory of the Daikoku Federation and voters would have to choose from the three options, namely:
A law on governing elections and referendums are yet to be approved by the Presidency of the Daikoku Federation, but it is expected that such a law would be approved within May.
