CENTRAL DISTRICT, Seidaikei (DFNS) - The Constitution of Kaleido, the 11th constitution of the country since January 2013, has been approved through a referendum, the Kaleido News and Information Service announced February 8.
The constitution was approved by 66% of the electorate, the KNIS added. The approval of the Constitution of Kaleido formalized the transition of the country to the Independent State of Kaleido, with elections to Governor-General, the head of the country, being held the next day, February 9. According to the KNIS, Luis Palay won the Governor-General elections with 73% of the electoral votes, over Kenneth Crisostomo who only won 9% of the electoral votes. The Presidency of the Daikoku Federation issued a short statement in regards to this, saying: "The Presidency of the Daikoku Federation expresses its concern as the recent government change in Kaleido projects a sense of instability and uncertainty in their government, which may result to negative effects for the peace and stability in the Philippine region."
